Training with back pain.
I tweaked my back a couple days ago. It was actually throbbing, but only when I laid down at night. I'm taking aleve during the day with good relief. I want to hit the gym with some light workouts without further damaging my back. Any thoughts on some light training methods for dumb asses that tweak their back.

depends on the "tweak"?? upper or lower?? I have had some bad lower back pain over the years ans have trained around it. ONE thing I have learned is if it is a muscle tweak that is aggrevating a nerve..take motrin to reduce the swelling. (it does work trust me). IF it is an upper back tweak I like to have a hot pad or ice hot pad put on to lossen the muscle. I do try to "pump" it but with unilateral movements to control the weight better. hope that helps bro

I picked up a 40lb piece of equip at work while joking with a friend and wasn't thinking about what I was doing. My lower back really didn't hurt until I went to bed and laid down. Then it really started throbbing. It hurt from my lower back, down around my leg, all the way up to my neck. Luckily aleve helped a lot. I'm thinking I'm going to do mostly machine push exercise until this feels better. Last time I tweaked my back it was from too heavy good mornings. That was a month long ordeal.

I would ice or heat your back whatever works best for you. I would wear a weight belt or something to try to keep your self from tweaking it again. I would give yourself some rest. If you work out I would use very light weights and focus on isolation exercises.
